ACTIONS: Relaxant, antispasmodic, diaphoretic, carminative, nervine, nerve tonic
MEDICINAL PROPERTIES: Lemon Balm leaves serve as a gentle tranquilizer especially for melancholia, mild depression, nervousness or anxiety. Can reduce the symptoms of upset stomachs, headaches, or colds. Topically the leaves can be rubbed on wounds or insect bites to promote healing.
COMBINATIONS: Lemon Balm can be combined with chamomile for child who are teething or feeling restless, anxious, and/or agitated.
GROWTH PATTERN: Lemon Balm is a perennial that likes substantial watering and full sun. It can grow up to 3 feet tall. Lemon Balm has a wonderful lemon scent and is activated when leaves are rubbed or crushed.
SPIRITUAL: When making spells for success and healing, Lemon Balm is often used. It also helps attract friendship and love.

DOSAGE: For mild depression and anxiety, take 1/2 tsp of tincture 3 times a day. For nervous tension and headaches, drink a cup of infusion 3 times a day. For cold sores, use infusion on blister as needed.
